Sometimes, the best inspiration for a character of your own is the dynamic between two characters you love.
I mentioned these two to April and was telling her that I thought they would be an interesting pair, with their hatred of one another, but being eternally attached and reliant on one another. She kinda laughed at me and told me "Then make them"
So here they are.
Much like Crona, this is not by any means meant to be a pony-fied version of the original characters, but are definitely influenced by them very heavily, slightly moreso than Crona.
Sarge is a raging asshole with a horrid temper, and can be very dim-witted at times. He's capable and possess a strange type of street smarts due to his time spent in the Chevalian military. He's not book smart in any way at all, and he tends to rely heavily on others for anything involving complex words or numbers. For example, he can read, but usually not more than a children's book and he can only do the most basic of math. He never had the need to learn these skills or retain any of them he had learned, he was always content to make his way the one way he knew how: brute force. He's very sturdy and is used to physical labor and, in the past, combat.
His star seed, who Sarge introduces as Minor Junior Private Negative First Class or just "Junior," isn't known to have any other name, but it's commonly noted by others that as he's introduced, the seed will start to say a name before being cut off. Of the two, he's the more intelligent and knows a very wide variety of subjects. Much in the way he relies on Sarge, Sarge in turn relies on him. Sarge is the braun and Junior is the brains.
However, the two have an intense love/hate relationship. Sarge intentionally bashes his tail against things to rattle the seed and will usually threaten or belittle him, and in return, Junior tends to mislead Sarge in most situations that his intellect is needed and confuse him with advanced subjects he could never hope to understand. However, they do know that they would be incomplete without one another, Junior would die without Sarge and Sarge would be eternally lost and confused in an advancing world. They do manage to overcome their differences in times of strife and actually work as a team. In these moments, they are a force to be reckoned with.
